New Horizons in Asia Pacific

 

A note from Spa Balance´s founding director, Sonal Uberoi.

 

At the end of September 2012, I stepped down from the day-to-day management of Spa Balance to exclusively join French luxury hotel chain, Sofitel Luxury Hotels, as their Regional Director of Spa Asia Pacific. I will now be based out of rapidly developing Macau and will be overlooking the So Spa operations in the region (currently 11 spas open in 7 countries), as well as championing the expansion of the So Spa brand in APAC.

A finales de septiembre del 2012, me demití de la gestión diaria de Spa Balance para unirme de manera exclusiva a la cadena francesa hotelera de lujo, Sofitel Luxury Hotels, como Director Regional de Spa para el Pacífico Asiático. De ahora en adelante, estaré radicada en la creciente cuidad Macao controlando las operaciones de los So Spas en la región (actualmente 11 spas abiertos en 7 países) y liderando la expansión de la marca So Spa en APAC (Pacífico Asiático, por sus siglas en inglés).

 

To say that I am excited about the opportunity would not do the feeling justice. I am thrilled about my new venture. My new position at Sofitel Luxury Hotels will afford me the opportunity to continue to collaborate and innovate with some extremely talented and dedicated people and do work that will have far-reaching impact.

 

I can´t think of a more exciting time to join Sofitel Luxury Hotels. The So Spa brand’s rejuvenating world traditions and French cosmetology pioneering concept has great potential within the global spa and wellness industries. I believe that with my uniquely global skill set and entrepreneurial flair I bring to the project, together with top-notch professionals, we will be able to make So Spa a truly game-changing brand within the Asia Pacific region.

 

The decision to leave the day-to-day operations of my company has not been an easy one. My team and I have been extremely lucky to work with outstanding clients to accomplish ambitious goals and find fresh and effective solutions to challenges. Together, we have grown both professionally and personally and I take immense pride and satisfaction in the work we’ve done. It has been an extremely rewarding journey.

 

Although I personally will not be taking on any new client work, I will continue to actively contribute to the Spa Balance´s blog about all things spa, beauty, wellness and health related. Stay tuned for smart insights on the spa and wellness industries!

 

Decir que estoy emocionada por la oportunidad no le hace justicia al sentimiento. Estoy muy entusiasmada con mi nueva aventura. Mi nuevo cargo con Sofitel Luxury Hotels me dará la oportunidad de seguir colaborando e innovando con personas muy talentosas y dedicadas y llevar a cabo un trabajo que tendrá un impacto de largo alcance.

 

No puedo pensar en un momento más estimulante para unirme a Sofitel Luxury Hotels. El concepto pionero de la cosmetología francesa combinada con las mejores tradiciones de salud del mundo de la marca So Spa tiene un gran potencial dentro de las industrias globales de spa y wellness. Pienso que con el extraordinario conjunto de habilidades globales y enfoque empresarial que traigo al proyecto, junto a un grupo de profesionales de primera clase, seremos capaces de convertir So Spa en una marca innovadora dentro de la región del Pacífico Asiático.

 

La decisión de dejar las operaciones del día a día de mi empresa no ha sido fácil. Mi equipo y yo hemos sido muy afortunados de trabajar con clientes excepcionales, lograr metas ambiciosas y encontrar soluciones nuevas y eficaces a diversos desafíos. Juntos, hemos crecido a nivel profesional y personal y por ello me siento muy orgullosa y satisfecha del trabajo que hemos realizado. Ha sido un viaje extremamente gratificante.

 

Aunque personalmente no asumiré ningún compromiso profesional nuevo de parte de clientes, continuaré a contribuir activamente al blog de Spa Balance sobre todos los temas relacionados con spas, belleza, bienestar y salud. ¡Espere pronto más ideas brillantes sobre las industrias de spa y wellness!
